Is there a Hell? If so, is there anyone in Hell?

I am told that Hell is mentioned over 60 times in Matthew’s Gospel.  In Matthew 13:36 43 Jesus explained the parable of the weeds in the field.  He said: –

“The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the Kingdom.  The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil.  The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.  The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.  They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  The righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.  whoever has ears let them hear.”

At Fatima, in 1917, the Blessed Virgin Mary told the three child seers that many souls go to Hell because they have no one to pray for them.

Pope Francis I recently expressed the view that he would like to belief that there is no one in Hell.

  1. Catholics and all Christians must accept what the gospels tell us about Hell. it does exist.
The passage in Matthew quoted in the blog, makes it patently clear that, at the end of time, after our deaths, we will be judged by God according to the way we have lived our lives. if we have committed mortal sin and have not sought God’s forgiveness, that is, we have not repented, we will go to a fiery place where there will be gnashing of teeth. This is Hell. without a doubt.

Our Lady of Fatima told the three children that many souls go to Hell because they have no one to pray for them. that convinces me that their are many people in Hell.
